Getting Involved in Policy Making

The Smoke Free Coalition of King County is composed of restaurant and bar owners of both establishments that are smoke free and those that allow smoking who feel strongly about the smoke-free movement. Members determine the direction and activities of the coalition.

Some accomplishments of the coalition to date include:

• Members are offering advice to other restaurant and bar owners who have or are considering enacting a smoke-free policy
• Members have testified in Olympia in favor of smoke-free legislation
• Members have shared their stories and opinions with the press and the public
